Government, Ibexa DXP

Saudipedia is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s official multilingual digital encyclopedia, operating under strict editorial governance. The project required a scalable Ibexa platform capable of supporting complex publishing processes and institutional-level control.

Automated Migration from a Challenging Legacy Database
The legacy database was structurally inconsistent and unreliable. We built a fully automated migration framework using n8n, consisting of 40 interconnected workflows and nearly 600 steps. From data cleansing and transformation to rebuilding complex relationships, the workflows formed a reusable infrastructure that converted low-quality source data into a clean, structured Ibexa architecture.

11-Stage Publishing Workflow for Arabic Content
Arabic content follows a highly controlled lifecycle including creation, media handling, review, proofreading, and multi-level approval. We implemented an Ibexa-native workflow with up to 11 stages, varying by content type.

The additional five languages run on a simplified translation workflow based on the approved Arabic source.

Custom Dashboards & Visual Version Control
We extended Ibexa’s dashboard with workflow-driven tables, status-based tabs, and translation tracking — including visibility of missing language versions.

Additionally, we developed a custom comparison tool that enables visual diff between workflow stages within a version, highlighting additions in green and deletions in red.

The Result
Saudipedia now operates on a scalable, enterprise-grade Ibexa platform that combines automated migration, complex multi-stage publishing, and full editorial transparency. Beyond system implementation, the project established a controlled and sustainable content governance model tailored to institutional standards.
