Uniqa: a Liferay platform upgrade and redesign for a Central European insurer

Uniqa Insurance is one of the leading financial service providers in Central and Eastern Europe, offering a wide range of insurance solutions for individuals and companies. The company continuously develops its digital strategy to align its business operations and customer service with the expectations of the digital age, through a customer-centric approach and the integration of digital tools.

Project background

The Uniqa Insurance project began in December 2021, with the primary goal of updating their existing Liferay 6.2 platform to version 7.3. Following the successful upgrade, we completed a thorough redesign before the platform moved on to version 7.4.

Implementation

During the project, we replaced existing functionalities with factory solutions, paying special attention to reducing the need for customization and increasing system stability. As part of the modernization process, we implemented the following key project elements:

• CRM integration
• Claim reporting
• User migration
• Asset search and charts
• Product pages
• Mega menu

Design and front-end development

A significant part of the project was the redesign of Uniqa's website, for which we developed front-end solutions based on designs provided by an external design partner. Ensuring that Uniqa's online interface delivered an excellent user experience on all devices and screen sizes was essential. By applying responsive design, we ensured that the website was accessible and easy to use for all visitors, regardless of the device they used.

Results

In May 2022, we successfully delivered the updated and redesigned Liferay platform, significantly improving Uniqa's digital presence. Through this project, Uniqa made its online services more efficient, improved the customer experience, and gained a stable, easily extensible system for future development.
