Mavir: a Liferay-based portal with real-time data visualization for the energy sector
Webtown developed custom Liferay portlets for Mavir that display real-time statistical data, while keeping the portal flexible enough to support future intranet development.
Mavir Zrt., Hungary's transmission system operator for the electricity grid, was looking for the right partner to renew its existing website. The goal was a modern, flexible portal solution, adaptable to their own specific needs, that could serve not only their current tasks but also future development and a possible future intranet expansion. Mavir's previous portal could no longer meet these requirements.
Since the portal's primary function is delivering information to visitors quickly and accurately, the system had to be fast and reliably efficient. The main goal was to create an easy-to-use portal that provides separate roles for content managers and editors on a per-page basis, and that works seamlessly together with Mavir's existing systems.
To meet this need, we developed custom Liferay portlets capable of visually displaying large volumes of real-time statistical data - a feature that's especially important for a player in the energy sector, where trading decisions are made daily, relying on up-to-date data.
